A PAIR OF ORMOLU MOUNTED CHINESE TURQUOISE VASES, THE PORCELAIN KANGXI (1662-1722) THE MOUNTS LOUIS XVI

Circa 1780

Each vase of pot porri form with ormolu pierced lids and scrolling acanthus leaf handles on four double goats legs resting on a shaped ormolu base.  The ormolu is reminiscent of one of the most prominent and active bronziers Francois Remond (1747 – 1812).
