Vases and lids of white porcelain, mounted with French gilt bronze. The domed
lid with floral finial, resting on a pierced ormolu band, the sides decorated with
female faces seemingly suspended by an arch of acanthus leaves. The Locre
porcelain vases are glazed inside and out with white glaze. The domed lids are
likewise glazed inside and out. The tapering body of the vase is set in a cup of
gilt-bronze curving acanthus leaves. The base of the vase has a collar at the top
with a stepped, round plinth at the bottom.
The pedestals are of a rich purple amethyst with beaded ormolu around the top.
The laurel swags around the pedestals are seemingly suspended from two gilt
bows. The pedestals are encircled at the bottom by gilt laurel-wreaths and rest
on separately carved square plinths.
